Good morning from the United States! My name is Russell and I wanted to share with you all my latest Explorer purchase! We live in Austin, Texas and have been searching for a Haslbeck Highway edition Explorer for four years now. Back in June, we finally found one, and began the importing process to bring this truck back to the states. It is a solid truck, only 107k km on it. It is interesting to compare the differences of the export models compared to the U.S. models.

Wir leben in Austin, Texas und suchen seit vier Jahren nach einem Haslbeck Highway Edition Explorer. Im Juni fanden wir endlich einen und begannen mit dem Importprozess, um diesen Truck in die Staaten zurückzubringen. Es ist ein solider LKW mit nur 107.000 km. Interessant ist der Vergleich der Unterschiede der Exportmodelle zu den US-Modellen.

This is true, it is usually the other way around! There are so many differences between the export models and the U.S. models, plus we really wanted a Haslbeck Highway edition, mainly for the front grille guard!

Das stimmt, meistens ist es umgekehrt! Es gibt so viele Unterschiede zwischen den Exportmodellen und den US-Modellen, außerdem wollten wir unbedingt eine Haslbeck Highway Edition, hauptsächlich für den Frontgrillschutz!

As far as how much we paid, the truck was about 4100 euros and the total shipping costs were about 5000 U.S. dollars.

So for the first week, we have already replaced the entire cooling system, the entire air conditioning system, new rear brakes, corrected some lighting issues, and adjusted the front grill guard from an impact.


Does anyone have any scanned copies of the wiring diagrams for the 93-94 export explorers?



Soweit wir bezahlt haben, kostete der LKW etwa 4100 Euro und die gesamten Versandkosten etwa 5000 US-Dollar.

In der ersten Woche haben wir also bereits das gesamte Kühlsystem, die gesamte Klimaanlage, neue Hinterradbremsen, einige Beleuchtungsprobleme behoben und den Frontgrillschutz vor einem Aufprall eingestellt.
